Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren stood on the stage at the Majestic Theatre on Monday night, joining Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in a final campaign event before Tuesday's vote.

The rally took place just hours before polls opened, serving as the last major push for El-Sayed against Republican challenger Mike Rogers. The winner of the race will replace retiring Sen. Gary Peters at the end of his term.

Warren addressed the crowd, asserting that the state's outcome would determine the direction of the federal government. She told attendees, “No pressure here. You’re the pivot point. To make the changes we need to make. Michigan has gotta be blue.”

El-Sayed focused his remarks on campaign priorities, specifically expanding health care access, lowering taxes for working-class families, and reducing the influence of money in politics. He told the audience, “We believe in a government of the people and by the people. And we the people deserve to have health care in America.”

Sarah Jukaku, El-Sayed's wife, also spoke from the stage. She said, “We deserve better. Michiganders deserve a fighter like Abdul.”

Jocelyn Benson, who is running for governor and has previously campaigned with El-Sayed, was not present at the Monday night event. Supporters at the rally said their efforts to turn out voters would continue through Tuesday night as polls closed.
