Trump backs Netanyahu again in days before Israel vote
The US President urged Israeli voters to reelect the Prime Minister, warning that a different outcome would force Washington to act alone against Iran.

Tensions are high in Israel ahead of the upcoming general election. On Sunday evening, US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social to endorse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the second time. The message arrived just days before citizens head to the polls.
Trump called Netanyahu an "outstanding Warrior Prime Minister" and asked voters to remember the leader's track record. He stated that the two men have been "winning together." The President cited Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury as examples of their joint efforts.
In the final part of the post, Trump issued a direct appeal. "Vote for Bibi Netanyahu for Prime Minister; we have to finish the job that we started!" he wrote. He followed this with a warning about the consequences of a different election result.
The President stated that if Israel chooses anyone other than Netanyahu, America will have to handle the job itself. "I'm not inclined to do that," he added. The Jerusalem Post reported that this remark specifically referred to the ongoing confrontation with Iran.
This endorsement followed reports that Netanyahu intensified his push for support from the White House earlier on Sunday. Two American sources told the newspaper that the Prime Minister and his allies in Trump's inner circle increased pressure for new statements of support. One source described the behavior as a sign of political desperation.
Axios also reported on the recent communications between the two leaders. According to that account, Netanyahu and Trump spoke twice over the past three days. Netanyahu suggested specific wording for the endorsements and proposed that Trump speak with Israeli journalists to repeat his support.
The President's message combined praise for the current Prime Minister with a warning about the US role in regional security. It arrives at a moment when Netanyahu is actively seeking public backing from Washington as the election approaches.
