Peruvian television host Laura Bozzo is alive and remains hospitalized in Mexico City, according to her assistant and representatives who spoke out on Wednesday, October 28. This confirmation comes after false reports of her death spread rapidly across social media platforms on Tuesday evening, causing confusion among fans and media outlets.
Aarón Guerrero, Bozzo’s assistant and driver, posted a message on his personal Instagram account to address the misinformation. He stated that the reports of her passing were false and called on the public and media to verify information before sharing it. Guerrero did not provide specific details about her current medical status in the post.
Alejandra Palomera, the presenter’s representative, confirmed the assistant’s statement to People en Español. Palomera expressed frustration regarding the speculation and said the team is waiting for doctors to provide updates on Bozzo’s improvement. She noted that the family is asking for privacy during this time.
Bozzo underwent surgery on October 13 for a ruptured gastric ulcer. Following the procedure, she was transferred to a hospital in Mexico City where she has remained an inpatient. Her health condition is described by those close to her as very delicate.
Carlo Uriel, a collaborator of journalist Flor Rubio, told X that he spoke with Bozzo’s daughter, Alejandra de la Fuente. Uriel reported that the daughter confirmed her mother’s health status is critical but stable enough to warrant continued hospital care. The daughter also requested a chain of prayer for her mother’s recovery.
The rumor mill started on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 27, when messages about a presumed death began circulating on X. Actor Alfredo Adame also contributed to the initial wave of rumors by posting an image on his Instagram profile that read, 'Laura Bozzo rests in peace.' He later deleted the post after the false reports were widely disputed.
Bozzo, a lawyer by profession and a prominent media figure in Peru, continues to receive treatment at the Mexican hospital. Her team is monitoring her recovery closely while managing the public narrative surrounding her health.
