Aidoc’s artificial intelligence model, CARE, secured a spot on TIME magazine’s Best Inventions of 2026 list in the Medicine and Health category.

The system processes medical imaging and clinical text to assist physicians in identifying serious conditions earlier than traditional methods allow. TIME’s selection panel cited the technology’s capacity to detect a broad range of potentially serious findings as a key factor in its selection. When the software flags an urgent finding, it prioritizes the examination for immediate review by medical teams. This architecture allows Aidoc to expand the number of detectable conditions without building a separate AI model for each specific disease.

Aidoc was founded in 2016 by Elad Walach, Michael Braginsky, and Guy Reiner. The company developed an AI-powered platform that analyzes medical imaging and clinical data to alert doctors to life-threatening conditions in real time. The company’s AI solutions have received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration. According to the company, the technology is currently deployed across more than 150 healthcare systems in the United States and over 1,600 hospitals globally. Most hospitals in Israel also use the platform. Aidoc has raised more than $500 million since its founding. Investors include General Catalyst, TLV Partners, Magma Emerge, Square Peg, SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2, and NVentures, the venture capital arm of Nvidia.

Elad Walach, CEO and co-founder of Aidoc, stated that medical foundation models capable of detecting hundreds of diseases will impact diagnostic safety for everyone. “We are rapidly approaching a reality in which AI will serve as an additional pair of eyes in almost every medical diagnosis,” Walach said. He noted that CARE is a major growth driver for the company and that the TIME selection recognizes this trend.

The most recent funding round for Aidoc totaled $150 million and closed in April 2026. Goldman Sachs’ growth investment division led that round. TIME’s annual list recognizes inventions based on originality, effectiveness, ambition, and impact. Other technologies featured on the 2026 list include Anthropic’s Claude Code and Lovable.
