The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a warning on Thursday.
DREO is recalling 338,000 space heaters due to a fire risk. The agency told consumers to stop using the devices immediately.
The recall covers model DR-HSH015 units sold from September 2025 through October 2026. Prices ranged from $70 to $110. Retailers included Costco, Home Depot, Best Buy, Kohl's, QVC, and Lowe's. Thousands of additional units sold in Canada are also part of the recall. The heaters were manufactured between April 2025 and January 2026. The manufacture date appears on the underside and the front of the unit.
DREO reported at least 17 instances where the heaters ignited. Three of those fires caused property damage. One fire resulted in a burn injury to a hand. The alert states the units can overheat and ignite, creating fire and burn hazards.
Owners must unplug the heaters and cut the electrical cord to destroy them. They must then send a photo of the destroyed unit to DREO for a free replacement. The company is handling the logistics of the replacement process.
